On Sunday morning, Texas DPS Troopers arrested two individuals wanted for murder charges out of Baltimore, MD.

In December, it was reported that Jacquelyn Smith had been stabbed to death when she was attempting to give money to a young woman who appeared to be homeless.

According to our sister station in Baltimore, authorities say Jacquelyn’s husband, Keith Smith, 52, and step-daughter, Valeria Smith, 28, were charged with first degree murder for her death and had warrants issued for their arrest.

According to a statement from DPS, Keith and Valeria were apprehended on Sunday morning just after 10:00 a.m following a routine traffic stop in Combes. A Trooper observed a Toyota Camry that matched the description of a vehicle being driven by the suspects.

Keith and Valeria are currently in police custody and have yet to be extradited back to Maryland.
