Lasara, Texas (KVEO)—DPS troopers are investigating a fatal one vehicle crash on SH 186, West of FM 1015 in Lasara.
According to authorities, the incident occurred Saturday around 1 p.m. The investigation revealed that a maroon Nissan SUV, occupied by the driver only, was traveling West on SH 186.
There was heavy rain and standing water on the highway. Authorities said George Luis Alaniz, 40, was traveling at an unsafe speed and lost control of the vehicle, veering off the highway.
The vehicle then hit a ditch, causing it to flip and then hit a cement fixture and some trees.
DPS Troopers says they further investigating the crash.
