We would like to inform you that the Fire Department and Hazmat team have cleared the campus and deemed it to be safe. Earlier, the decision was made to call for early release as a precaution while fire crews evaluated the unusual odor. Again, we would like to emphasize that the campus is safe. Classes will resume normal operations tomorrow.

The Donna Independent School District sent students early after a strong odor was detected at Sauceda Middle School on Monday.
According to a letter sent to parents, the decision came a precautionary measure while the fire department evaluated the cause of the odor.
The letter states the odor may be a result of cleaning products.
The district said it is working with the fire department to make sure the campus is safe for students to return on Tuesday.
