DONNA, Texas – Over the weekend the Donna ISD throwing a spirit parade with all 22 schools taking part. Students, staff and faculty marched from Main Street to Bennie LaPrade Stadium, where they held a pep rally ahead of the night’s football game.
Those in the Donna ISD community who weren’t a part of the procession stood on the sidelines in support. 8th Grade student Jacob Rebollar says he and his family have watched the parade for as long as he can remember. He says able to walk in it this year and representing his football team means a lot to him. “It feels like a great honor. I’ve been wanting to do this ever since I was little. This is a big tradition. It helps us encourage each and every school that we can continue the spirit of Donna.”
District officials say events like these help keep the community united and spirits high.
