American Airlines is bringing back direct flights from Harlingen to Dallas Fort Worth.
From London, Paris, and many other destinations, Valley residents may only make one stop to Dallas before travelling to major world cities. This service will be a permanent addition to Valley International Airport in Harlingen with three flights scheduled daily. A special ceremony was held this morning to welcome some of the first flights coming into the airport.
Mayor Chris Boswell, “It will open up a lot of destinations across the United States and to other countries. One stop and you can be in another country, any place around the world.”
Marv Easterly, Valley International Airport, “From DFW there is over 900 departures, so it’s incredible, the connectivity that we get.”
American Airline officials say that the new flights connect Harlingen to about 200 new cities and 30 countries.
