Crash leaves 9-year-old dead in San Benito

San Benito (Texas)—A fatal crash left a 9-year-old dead in San Benito Monday morning.

Officials say officers with the San Benito Police Department Patrol Division responded to the 1700 block of West Expressway 77 around 1:17 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers saw that a black For Expedition had rolled over several times before coming to a stop in a yard just off the frontage road.

A 9-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Other people involved in the accident were treated for their injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The San Benito Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit along with Criminal Investigations Division Detectives are currently investigating.

The identity of the victim or the people involved are not being released at this time.
