Courtroom Arraignments Come to High School Students

Local News

Students in Pharr got the chance to see a real-life court case. It’s called Courts in Schools. Judge Keno Vasquez turned the PSJA Early College High School Theater into a live courtroom.

It’s all part of a new educational program. It provides students the opportunity to witness real hearings as part of their government class. Students interested in becoming attorneys, as well as mock trial participants, got to learn about the legal process and see the work of local attorneys and judges.

Judge Vasquez, from the 398th District court along with 92nd District Court Judge Luis Singleterry presented the program to the PSJA ISD School Board recently. They all agreed it would be a great experience for the students.
