Cops give away backpacks full of supplies for back to school

Local News

800 backpacks are stuffed and ready to giveaway for back-to-school.

Friday Brownsville police officers, explorers with the department, and Capital One Bank put together school supplies needed for grades 1st through 5th.

Pencils, pens, paper, rulers and glue were all donated by Capital One Bank.

With just how expensive the start of a new school year can be, the police and Capital One know a little help can go a long way.

Sgt. David De Leon with the Brownsville Police Dept. states, “They shouldn’t have to worry about how they’re going to earn their education and with help from sponsors like Capital One were you able to do this for them.”
