Congressman Vela announces $4 million in grants for South Texas community health clinics

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Congressman Filemon Vela announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded two South Texas community health clinics with $4 million in grant funding as part of a continuing funding package to support their operations.

Continued Funds have been awarded in the amount of $2,276,033 to Nuestra Clinica del Valle and $1,736,121 to the Brownsville Community Health Center, said the congressman’s press release.

“South Texas families greatly benefit from community health clinics such as Nuestra Clinica del Valle and Brownsville Community Health Center,” said Rep. Vela.  “I am happy to see that HHS recognizes the important services and work these clinics provide in order to ensure families have the support they need, so we can continue to build on our goal of healthier communities.”
