LOS FRESNOS, Texas – The Los Fresnos CISD is named the College Board 2020 District of the Year.
For the last decade, the nationally acclaimed non-profit recognizes the three best districts that prepare students for college education. This year Los Fresnos CISD takes the top prize in the medium size division. College Board officials say the winners were chosen for expanding participation in advance placement courses and far exceeded the national passing rate of 59 percent with a score of 71 percent.
Los Fresnos CISD is one of four Texas districts to earn this honor in the past decade. In 2019, more than 400 Los Fresnos students took Advanced Placement (AP) exams across 18 different subject areas.
