As the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, many cities in the Rio Grande Valley are requiring residents to cover their faces in public areas.
The City of Mission is issuing an order on Sunday demanding residents wear some type of material over their mouth.
According to a release, medical grade masks are not required.
Residents can wear a handkerchief, scarf, fishing gaiter, or a homemade mask.
The order requires residents to cover their faces in “public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain or interactions with fellow citizens are likely.”
