City of Mission launches program to help small businesses

MISSION, Texas — The city of Mission along with the Mission Economic Development Corporation and the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce announced they have launched a COVID-19 initiative to help local businesses recover.

According to a release, the project, “Our Mission Forward” aims at giving local businesses the resources needed to navigate COVID-19.

“Local and small businesses are essential to the success of our global economy. Our Mission Forward is an effort to keep our businesses running and to save jobs by coming together to share valuable information and ideas,” Daniel Silva, CEO of the Mission EDC said in the release. “We encourage all of our business owners to help us identify and promote local businesses that need our support.”

The release adds a website was created to offer support and guidance. It will also improve communication between business owners and city leaders.
