The city of McAllen is set to host a Recovery Efforts Information workshop on Thursday, July 5.
More than 15 inches of rain poured over the city during the recent storm. Some of the areas affected the most were in the western and southern part of McAllen. City officials say the American Red Cross and the Food Bank of the RGV have been dedicating their time to help those impacted. But there are additional resources that may help families on the road to recovery.
Kevin Pagan, McAllen City Attorney, “There are a number of volunteer agencies that have seen crews in that are helping people clean up their homes. We’ll be talking about some small grant assistance from affordable homes, and whatever other volunteer agencies that we have. Probably also talk about insurance, flood insurance.”
The open meeting will be at the Las Palmas Community center at 5:30 p.m.
