City of McAllen Announces Holiday Parade Theme and Date

Local News

A variety of global traditions are making their way to this year’s McAllen Holiday Parade.

City officials have announced the parade’s theme, which is “Christmas Around the World”. The idea of the theme is to show how different countries around the world celebrate the holiday. City officials say they have seen people from surrounding towns and larger cities gain more interest in the parade since it began almost five years ago.

Gerald Vera, Assistant City Manager, “We were hoping to get 50,000 people to come to McAllen for the parade, and we had around 250,000 people that year, and now we’re at over a quarter of a million people. So that’s great.”

This years holiday parade will take place on Saturday, December 1.
