City of McAllen 4th of July Celebrations

Local News

MCALLEN, Texas — Some registrations are now open and some deadlines are quickly approaching for the City of McAllen’s annual Independence Day Celebration.

The city will kick off the festivities with a patriotic program beginning at 8:00 a.m. across from Archer Park. Followed by the Main Street Parade at 9:00 a.m. and the Freedom Festival which organizers say will feature a petting zoo. That is from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Deadlines for parade entries must be received by this Friday, June 7. There will also be evening festivities that include fireworks and lots more.

Carina Jimenez, McAllen Marketing & Special Events Coordinator, A new element that we have included is the Independence 4k Run. We’re teaming up with team Red, White, and Blue to bring a 4k right before the fireworks kickoff at Municipal Park. We invite everyone to come out to enjoy all the festivities we have planned.
