City of Donna buys 5,000 COVID-19 test kits

DONNA, Texas — The City of Donna said they have taken an aggressive approach on reducing the
COVID-19 virus within the city by purchasing over 5,000 COVID-19 test kits.

The city said they will create an experienced and knowledgeable task force of doctors from pediatrics, family practice, and internal medicine from within the city to provide testing. These doctors will administer the test swabs of the COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 to the residents of Donna.

The city said the testing data will be tracked daily, weekly, and monthly by block number, and zip code to identify the hotspots.

The Provider’s Task Force is as follows:

  • Sarojini Bose, MD, Ashley Pediatrics Day and Night Clinic
    701 North Main Street
    Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    All test must be scheduled by calling (956) 609-8224
  • Julio Avila, NP, Avila Family Practice Clinic, PA
    308 North Salinas Boulevard
    Monday through Thursday 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m. Schedule by calling (956) 464-4497
  • Salman Muhammad Khan, MD, Donna Children’s Clinic
    1704 Scobey Avenue
    Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
    Tests must be scheduled by calling (956) 461-2150.
  • Michael A Flores, MD, Internal Medicine
    102 North Salinas Boulevard – Suite B
    Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    On Fridays 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Drive-thru appointment not necessary. Must text drivers license information and insurance card information to (956) 377-0068 and call (956) 377-5400 once in line for testing.
