City of Donna Breaks Ground on Truck Lane at International Bridge

Local News

The city of Donna breakes ground on a new southbound commercial truck lane at the Donna International Bridge. The $4.6 million project will allow for empty commercial trailers to cross into Mexico in their own lane.

The Department of Homeland Security estimates a 40 percent increase in trade and travel over the next ten years.

Carlos Yerena, Donna City Manager says, “We’re already seeing more economic development happening because of this construction, of this commercial traffic. And all of this, is to improve the quality of life for our citizens.”

The project is expected to be completed by June 2019.
