U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations at the Donna International Bridge intercepted 101 pounds of Marijuana from two Mexican Female Nationals as they attempted to enter into the U.S. from Mexico.

“Our officers detected the narcotics as a result of their continued vigilance and dedication to the CBP mission,” said Progreso/Donna Port Director Nestor Garza. “Keeping these dangerous drugs out of our communities is a priority for the Office of Field Operations.”

The seizure occurred on Wednesday, June 15, after CBP officers at the Donna International Bridge encountered a white 2006 Nissan Quest containing two female Mexican citizen passengers, ages 27 and 29. The travelers and vehicle were referred for further inspection after a K-9 alerted to the vehicle. Inspection of the vehicle resulted in officers discovering 30 packages of marijuana concealed within the vehicle.

CBP officers seized the narcotics, the vehicle, and arrested the two women who were turned over to the Donna Texas Police Department for further investigation.
