BROWNSVILLE – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge seized a load of suspected cocaine valued at approximately $88,400. hidden within a 2010 Dodge Caliber.
The seizure took place on Sunday, at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge when a 23-year-old male Mexican citizen applied for entry into the United States. The vehicle was referred to CBP secondary for further examination.
In secondary, CBP officers discovered five packages hidden within the vehicle. CBP officers removed the packages, which contained a total of 11.46 pounds of alleged cocaine.
CBP officers seized the narcotics, the vehicle, arrested the driver and turned him over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents for further investigation.
