PHARR, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Pharr International Bridge seized a suspected shipment of methamphetamine worth $19,841,000.
The agency said the 29-year-old man from Reynosa, Mexico arrived at the bridge cargo facility driving a tractor/trailer containing a commercial produce shipment arriving from Mexico.
A secondary inspection of the cargo resulted in officers discovering 521 packages of suspected methamphetamine weighing 992 pounds hidden within the floor of the trailer.
CBP said the narcotics, tractor/trailer were seized and the driver arrested.
Agents with Homeland Security Investigations continue with the investigation, said CBP.
