The 13th Court of Appeals has reduced a Pharr man’s capital murder convictions from three to one.

Back in June 2018, Hector Javier Rodriguez Alvarado was convicted on three felony counts of capital murder in a Monte Alto double murder case. After his appeal presenting five different arguments, the appellate court ordered the “judgement vacating counts two and three and affirms the remaining judgement as to count one.”

Court records show that Alvarado will still spend the rest of his life behind bars.
