It’s a special night for a very special group of kids, it is the 4th annual Capable Kids Foundation ‘Winter Wonderland’ carnival.

“We are providing a holiday experience for individuals and their families,” Foundation Board Member, Marissa Pecina, said.

An experience the Delgado family finds meaningful, “Capable Kids has had a positive impact, especially on my son’s growth and development, because he just gets to have the socialization and enjoyment of being out of the home,”John Delgado said.

His 21-year-old son, Ivan Delgado, has been apart of the Capable Kids family for nearly 10 years.

John explained the foundation gives his entire family a sense of community, “He’s participated in the baseball and basketball programs. He has thoroughly enjoyed the activity,” he said.

Foundation officials want every family to be empowered to promote inclusion and continue to engage their special children in the community.

“We want them to just have fun and feel loved and accepted in what they are doing, in a place where we don’t look at differences, rather than just all the fun that we are all having together,” Pecina explained.
