Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—The Cameron County Sheriff’s Department says that one of their sheriff’s deputies has tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials say the deputy tested positive late Monday afternoon and that three other deputies, that had been in contact with him, have been placed in isolation and will undergo testing.

The deputy worked the night shift and had no interaction with other staff at the main building.

” We wish our deputy and his spouse a speedy recovery. We are sending our prayers and support for our officer and our detention guard that are recovering. We will continue to make our best efforts in preventing the spread of COVID19 in our facilities and around our staff.” said the department.
