BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) — Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño held a press conference discussing the latest developments on COVID-19 in the county.

At the press conference, Treviño addressed the governor’s new orders that will be going into effect in the upcoming weeks.
Treviño mentioned that all businesses must be in compliance with the mandates stating the number of individuals that can be inside the facility at a given time.
He also reinforced that although local law enforcement can not enforce facial covering, it is strongly recommended that residents continue practicing CDC guidelines.
During the conference, he advised individuals to think of it as wearing a seat belt.
Treviño also mentioned that the county is continuing to monitor the essential travel regulations at the border, reminding residents that the restrictions have been extended.
