Brownsville to Discuss Transit Plan

Local News

The city of Brownsville talks about public transportation.

They will be hosting various public outreach meetings where local residents can voice their concerns.

Transportation leaders say so far the public asks for more bus routes.

Monica Tellam – Transit Planning, Brownsville Metro says, “I’d say the biggest two are more coverage of the Brownsville area as well as more frequency. Right now most of our busses run every hour, every 30 minutes, people would like to see more service every hour.”

Brownsville Metro estimates 1.3 million rides per year.

Public meetings will be ongoing. Those that cannot attend can submit their input through brownsvilletransitplan.com
