BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Public Utility Board said there were few electrical outages which impacted about 3,600 customers for about four hours during Hurricane Hanna.
This was the result of damage to a substation thought to be caused by a tornado reported in the area as well as water, said BPUB.
BPUB said by 10 a.m. Sunday morning, only scattered outages throughout the city remained. By 6 p.m., service was restored to all remaining customers.
With more rain expected in the Rio Grande Valley over the next few days, BPUB said they will monitor weather conditions and keep crews on standby.
BPUB urges any customers experiencing an outage or other service-related problem, to call 956-983-6121 or use BPUB’s web-based app.
