Brownsville police officer tests positive for COVID-19

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (KVEO) — A Brownsville police officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

Brownsville Mayor Trey Mendez made the announcement on his Facebook page, a long with 29 news cases and 2 additional deaths.

Mayor Mendez also added that he has been made aware of cases in certain businesses in the city.

On June 11, Cameron County reported 41 additional cases.

There are now 2,089 COVID-19 cases in the Rio Grande Valley as of June 11.
