BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Schools in Brownsville showing their love and respect for U.S. Army Specialist Miguel Villalon.

Students at Oliveira Middle School, where Miguel Villalon attended classes, showing posters with messages of “Thank you for your service Miguel” and “You are Brownsville’s Hero”. The school’s principal says the posters were the least they could do after Villalon, a native son, gave his life serving his country.

Martha Medina, Oliveira Middle School Principal, “The students gathered together from the different clubs and wanted to pay tribute to him by having the signs to show the family how much they care about a veteran and especially Miguel, that was an ex-Dolphin, here at Oliveira.”

Villalon had moved to Illinois to attend high school. He went to Brownsville schools including Oliveira Middle when he lived here. Villalon wanted to be buried in Brownsville where he was born and raised.
