Brownsville High School Lockdown After Social Media Post

Porter High School was on lockdown this morning after a perceived social media threat.

According to BISD Communications, a former student from Porter High School who is also a former student of Santa Fe High School made a post referencing this morning’s tragedy.  Approximately 10 people died in a school shooting in Santa Fe, TX. 

News Center 23 was told the former student posted about a shooting in his former school. That message was misinterpreted to be the Brownsville School. 

The school was on lockdown for 30 minutes. 

No injuries were reported in Brownsville.
