BP Arrests Undocumented Immigrants With Criminal Backgrounds

Local News

With the influx of undocumented immigrants flowing through the Rio Grande valley, local border patrol officials say almost every week they arrest several criminals.

Within the past three days two reported gang members and a sex offender with significant criminal histories were apprehended.

McAllen agents working near Mission came across a group of about 50 immigrants on Sunday. Traveling with that group was a Honduran national with his 3-year-old child. Record checks revealed a prior conviction for rape in Baltimore, Maryland.

The other two were arrested in separate cases. They were a Salvadoran and Guatemalan involved with the Mara Salvatrucha Gang.
