U.S. Border Patrol teamed up with local and state law enforcement agencies, fire department, and local business to provide school supplies to local children.
Yesterday evening, agents assigned to the Brownsville and Fort Brown stations coordinated efforts with the Brownsville Office of Field Operations, Brownsville Police and Fire Departments, Texas Department of Public Safety, and twelve local business to hand out donated school supplies to 250 children.
The event took place at the Westside Community Center and Los Federales, a musical group comprised of Customs and Border Protection agents and officers from throughout the Rio Grande Valley, provided entertainment.
Attendees enjoyed food, drinks and games. They were also able to visit with law enforcement and emergency response partners as well as the twelve local business representatives who distributed the school supplies.
