Sunday morning, Weslaco Station agents working in Pharr, Texas observed four subjects carrying bundles of suspected narcotics. Agents were able to apprehend one subject and three bundles of marijuana. The three remaining suspects fled into Mexico. The total weight of the bundles was 138 pounds, worth an estimated $110,000. The suspected smuggler was processed accordingly.
Later that evening, Harlingen Station agents working near Bluetown, Texas, apprehended four suspected drug smugglers. The subjects were encountered in the brush near four bundles of marijuana. The agents discovered the group after tracking their foot sign from the Rio Grande. The bundles weighed 207 pounds and have an approximate value of $165,000.
