Border Patrol Seizes Over 500 Pounds Of Marijuana

U.S. Border Patrol agents interdicted a marijuana smuggling attempt along the Rio Grande.  

Early this morning, Rio Grande City Station agents observed several subjects illegally cross the Rio Grande south of La Casita, Texas. As agents began to track the group, they discovered eight bundles of marijuana along the path. An extensive search of the area resulted in the apprehension of five undocumented immigrants.

The marijuana weighed over 500 pounds and has an estimated value of $414K. 

Agents turned the narcotics over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
