EDINBURG, Texas — On Tuesday afternoon, a Brooks County 911 dispatcher contacted the Falfurrias checkpoint station and advised them of a call they received from a man who was lost near Encino, Texas.
The agency’s press release said the dispatcher reported the caller had run out of water and needed assistance. With the information provided, agents responded to the suspected location. Agents found the Mexican national and transported him to the station where he was evaluated by on-site medical staff.
Hours later, the La Joya Police Department contacted the McAllen station after they received a 911 call for help. The call came from a man claiming he was lost.
Agents in the area responded to the last known location provided by the police department. After a brief search, they successfully located the Honduran national, said the press release.
Agents offered the man medical attention, but he declined.
