Border Patrol discovers stash house in rural South Texas neighborhood

Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—A stash house operation was discovered in a rural South Texas neighborhood.

In a statement issued Friday, Border Patrol officials said agents received information of a suspected stash house operating in Rio Grande City.

As agents approached the residence, several people ran from the house to a nearby brush, according to the statement.

Starr County Sheriff’s Office officials and Border Patrol agents made contact with the remaining people inside the house and identified determined 11 of them were undocumented immigrants from Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras.

Customs and Border Protection encourages the public to report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
