Border Patrol arrest child sex offender and gang members

EDINBURG, Texas – Wednesday night, McAllen agents working near Los Ebanos, Texas, arrested a Honduran national shortly after he illegally entered the United States. The subject was identified as Edin Leny Giron-Ramirez. During processing, records checks revealed that Giron-Ramirez had been previously convicted of a sexual offense against a child (fondling) in Miami Dade County. As a result of his conviction, the subject received a 4 month jail sentence. Additionally, Giron-Ramirez was also convicted of indecent exposure and sentenced to 5 years probation.  Federal authorities have previously removed Giron-Ramirez on two separate occasions.  

The following morning, Rio Grande City agents arrested a Honduran national after she illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks revealed she is a member of the dangerous Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang. Additionally, record checks revealed she laundered proceeds from the gang’s illegal enterprise at a business in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Hours later, McAllen agents arrested a Salvadoran national whose record checks revealed he is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.

Border Patrol is processing the subject accordingly.
