Dozens of U.S. Border Patrol agents and Rio Grande Valley residents gathered at the Hidalgo County Courthouse on Thursday morning to honor agents who died in the line of duty.

Agents celebrate the Day of Valor every year, honoring their fallen comrades.

“I’ve seen the U.S Border Patrol become my family. I’ve walked in to a large green family,” said Erica Aguilar, the wife of Agent Luis A. Aguilar, who died in the line of duty. “Everybody wanted to help us in our time of need and up to now.”
