Border Patrol agents arrest two Mexican nationals with prior convictions

EDINBURG, Texas – This week, Border Patrol agents from McAllen and Weslaco arrested a sex-offender and a convicted murderer.

According to a release, McAllen agents arrested a man near Mission on Tuesday morning.

Agents discovered that Jose Grimaldo-Requena, a Mexican national, was previously arrested in Dallas, Texas for sexual assault.

A Dallas judge sentenced him to eight years in prison.

On Wednesday, Weslaco agents near Donna arrested another Mexican national who was illegally entering the Untied States.

A background check revealed the man had been charged in Hidalgo County for murder.

According to the release, both subjects were referred for federal prosecution.
