Border Patrol agents arrest sex offenders

Edinburg (Texas)— Border Patrol agents say they apprehended three sex offenders last week.

According to a release, Brownsville agents apprehended four undocumented individuals. During processing, record checks revealed one of them, a Mexican national, had a previous conviction in Dallas for improper photo/visual recording to arouse/gratify.

The man received two years confinement for the crime. He also had an extended criminal history such as possession of cocaine, injury to a child/elderly/disabled with intentional bodily injury, says the release.

On Monday afternoon, Fort Brown agents working in Brownsville, apprehended a Mexican national whose record checks revealed he had a previous arrest by the Northfield Police Department in Minnesota for criminal sexual conduct. The presiding judge sentenced the man to 1 year confinement.

On Tuesday morning, McAllen agents working in Havana arrested a Mexican national after he illegally entered the United States. 

During processing, the man’s record checks revealed multiple arrests and convictions in Hidalgo County.

His last encounter with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office resulted in his arrest for sexual assault of a child. The man received 42 month’s confinement for the crime.

The release says Border Patrol is processing the individuals accordingly.
