Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican man near Donna on Sunday — just nine days after the federal government deported him.

Agents arrested Eduardo Gallardo near Donna, according to the federal criminal complaint against him.

“The Defendant claims to have illegally entered the United States on September 18, 2016, near Donna, Texas,” according to the criminal complaint. “Record checks revealed the Defendant was formally Deported/Excluded from the United States on September 09, 2016, through Brownsville, Texas.”

Gallardo served a federal prison sentence for illegal re-entry in 2014, according to the criminal complaint.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Gallardo, who remains in federal custody.
