EDINBURG – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens with previous convictions for sexual assault.

On Monday, the agency said Brownsville agents arrested a Honduran national whose record checks revealed a previous arrest in Tennessee by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

SCSO charged the man, later identified as Juan Carlos Cornejo-Aleman, with aggravated statutory rape. He received as sentence of four years confinement for the crime.

The release said on Wednesday morning, Kingsville agents, using a small unmanned aircraft system, arrested a Mexican national, later identified as Gregorio Olivarez-Aguilar. He was attempting to go around agents via the ranchlands of Kenedy County.

During processing, record checks revealed an arrest in Washington state. Olivarez-Aguilar was charged and convicted of rape of a child and received 26 months in jail. Additionally, record checks also revealed a previous arrest in Washington state by the Kent Police Department for kidnapping, said the agency.

Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
