Beach Park allowing nearly 2,000 people inside at a time

Governor Greg Abbott recently announced water parks can reopen Friday at 25% capacity. Beach Park at Isla Blanca has been anxiously waiting to open.

The 25-acre park sees 7,000 visitors on a typical busy Saturday, but will only be allowing 1,750 in at a time. Assuring people who are sick stay out of the water park, temperatures will be checked at the door.

“Some of the things we’re instituting this year are temperature checks for all staffs upon arrival to work plus an oral screening . They don’t even use the time clock we manually input their times. The guest will also be checked when they arrive at the park, ” said Marketing Director Mike Bigelow.

Aiming to further minimizing the spread of the virus, the park is adding an enhanced disinfecting team.

“We have sanitizing stations set up throughout the park we have a sanitizing team that’s been established that will be wiping down hand rails, chairs, tubes, life vests throughout the day to make everyone feel comfortable and good about themselves,” Bigelow added.

Bigelow highly encourages visitors to check the parks Facebook page before heading out to track the parks capacity.
