Avocado Shipment Yields Over 1,000 Pounds of Marijuana

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than a thousand pounds of marijuana in a load of avocados.

The seizure happened at the cargo facility of the Pharr International Bridge. The driver of a commercial trailer carrying avocados was pulled over for inspection. Upon inspection the drugs were found within the shipment of avocados.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $200,000. The case remains under investigation by Department of Homeland Security Investigators.
