The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation regarding official oppression at the Progreso Police Department.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, on Saturday, June 29, sheriff’s deputies responded to the Progreso police department in regards to allegations of misconduct by an officer.
Police Chief Alberto Rodriguez says he is surprised with the allegations but will follow through with the investigation.
“Of course I am surprised by those allegations but we had to follow through the investigation.”
The sheriff’s office says they are receiving assistance from the FBI in this case and add that no specific details of the case will be released at this time.
