A topless bar application may be denied but owner and attorney Larry Mark Polsky is not giving up on the proposed business.
This week Cameron county blocks the attorney’s plan for adult entertainment on South Padre Island.
Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said not only would it have a negative impact on the community, but state law prohibits such a business on a public beach which is considered a public park.
This afternoon Polsky tells us that he has already filed an appeal to that decision. Polsky believes that the county is “creating a fiction. In order to not give you your license, they’re saying, ‘hey, the beach in front of your property is a public park.’ But what about the rest of the beach in Cameron county? Is that a public park?”
The legal battle would now be in the hands of a state district court judge. Polsky says he’s working to get his case heard in Corpus Christi.
