The Alton Police Department is proud to announce that they will be hosting their first ever National Night Out Community Event on Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 6P.M.-9P.M. at Sylvia Vela Park.
This event is the first of its kind in Alton. Alton law enforcement says they are looking forward to building, and strengthening their relationship with the community that they serve.
The event will begin at 6:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation, followed by guest speakers including, Alton Mayor Salvador Vela, State Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, District Attorney Ricardo Rodriquez, and Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra.
There will be performances by the following local schools: Mission High School, Domingo Trevino Cheer, and Waitz Elementary Folklorico.
Along with live bands that will take the stage starting at 7:30 P.M. with Conjunto Sol, followed by Wreckless Texas at 8:30 P.M.
Free food will be provided by TMPA, and there will be over 25 vendors giving away free school supplies, including a booth that will provide free back to school haircuts for the kids.
