Aggravated Robbery Suspect Turns Himself In

Local News

Police in Alton say an arrest has been made in an aggravated robbery case after the suspect chose to turn himself in.

26 year old Alvaro Lozano was arraigned today on a charge of aggravated robbery.

Police say, on Sunday, Lozano walked into El tigre convenience store in the 3400 block of North Main armed with a knife, and demanded money.

The clerk gave the suspect approximately $75 dollars in cash and the suspect fled on foot.

“This case is a prime example of how community involvement and information sharing between our local law enforcement counterparts is paramount in our pursuit to disrupt and destroy the criminal element from impacting the quality of life that we work so hard to provide for our community.” Says Jonathan Flores The Alton Police Chief.

The judge who arraigned Lozano said he could have given Lozano a $100,000 bond, but because Lozano turned himself in, he was given a $25,000 bond.
