Actress Evan Rachel Wood was in McAllen to attend day two of the 24-day fast and prayer chain protest.
The actress, along with other celebrities, is protesting what they say is cruel separation and detention of families at the border.
“I can’t even begin to imagine what the families are feeling and what they’re going through. I am a mother and a human being and I couldn’t rest until I came and saw things for myself and spoke with families and did what I could,” Wood said.
The fast/prayer chain began on Saturday. It was started by Kerry Kennedy, daughter of Robert Kennedy.
