Activist group disappointed with Charro Days denial

Local News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A local group offers an official response after a denial request from Charro Days Inc.

As Local 23 has reported the Frontera Progressives was trying to remove U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement from the Brownsville tradition. They claim the agency’s Remain in Mexico policy, along with various other Trump Era policies are against the spirit of friendship promoted by the festivities.

Charro Days organizers denied the request saying, “We understand and recognize the views of all, but we are not a political or governmental agency.”
