The city of Pharr is taking the lead to give 50 families access to the internet. The city and PSJ ISD announced the launching of a pharrlife.net. It is a pilot project that will give the families free broadband WI-FI internet service. Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez says this project is a step toward the future for the city.

“We identified a need based on the necessities of what makes people’s quality of life better. How they get their kids to school, how their children can be better educated. And it actually overlaps with the city’s desire to make our citizens better.”

The mayor also added, if this project is successful, the plan is to provide all Pharr residents with internet access.
